POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Engineering Intern will be responsible for supporting the Engineering Department with new product expansion, as well as implementing and improving process workflow. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work cross-departmentally with the Engineering, Quality, Sales, Operations, Product Management and Supply Chain teams to collaborate on product expansion initiatives and contribute to the technical product line education for all internal partners. The Engineering Intern will be diligent about staying updated with industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies to continuously enhance their skills and knowledge, while contributing to Solve’s continued growth and success. **Must be local to Charlotte, NC - relocation expenses are not provided.**

Hourly Rate for this position is: $18.25

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Drafters and Engineering partners for product specification and design verification to ensure optimal functionality and accurate representation of models and drawings through prototyping and functional testing
- Provide application support to internal stakeholders
- Assist with the preparation of engineered solution documents and presentations, including engineering drawings, CAD models, project proposals and product literature
- Conduct root cause failure analysis with validated recommendation on corrective actions
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Reverse engineering of products and process workflows
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis
- 2+ years into a Bachelor's or Associate’s Engineering Degree (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering focus preferred)
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Strong understanding of torque transmission/transfer mechanisms
- Experience with 2D drawing software (AutoCAD/ Draftsight/SolidWorks), and 3D modeling software (Preferably SolidWorks)
- Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) implementation experience
- Experience with Driveworks
