Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research, maintain, and repair all plant machinery, compressed air systems, washer, dryers, conveyors, electrical systems, automation systems, etc.
  • Continuously develop and apply knowledge of tooling and related software to the maintenance and repair of all equipment
  • Reviewing and understanding electrical schematics to assist in troubleshooting issues related to proper equipment function
  • Develops preventative maintenance schedule for new equipment
  • Collaborate with department managers/supervisors  to maintain operator preventative maintenance schedules
  • Complete preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specification; troubleshooting malfunctions
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operations, listening for problems, using precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices with hand and power tools, and examining form and texture of parts
  • Repairs equipment and/or completes work orders assigned by Production Manager/Supervisors
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using varies measuring instruments
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using various tools
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance and monitoring compliance
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using plant instruments and equipment to make and necessary repairs
  • Collaborate with department managers/supervisors to maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipate needed equipment, parts, and supplies; places orders needed items
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, establishing personal networks
  • Develops and maintains a library of technical publications related to profiling equipment maintenance and optimization
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communication actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Provides responsive, expert support to Managers, Supervisors, and machine operators
  • Guarantees the highest levels of safety in machine operation, product quality, maximized labor and equipment efficiencies and minimizes cost
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with and adhering to safety procedures, B&B policies, LOTO and required PPE
  • Work weekends and overtime, as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Have at least 3 years maintenance work experience
  • Self-motivated and positive attitude
  • Strong aptitude for equipment repair
  • Displays mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Knowledge of inverter drives, controllers, AC or DC power supplies
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, control logic, and mechanical drawings
  • Possess basic knowledge of required codes
  • Possess valid driver’s license
  • Process driven mentality
  • Ability to read, write, interpret, and verbally communicate technical instructions
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment as well as autonomously
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for the entire work shift
  • Ability to plan pro-actively and to meet strict deadlines or be able to communicate those that cannot be met

Abilities

  • Good listening, problem sensitivity, quick response reaching time, arm-hand steadiness and rate control.
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining and entering accurate information in B&B ERP system.
  • Analyzing information and evaluation results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers via telephone, written form, e-mail or in person.
  • The ability to meet strict deadlines or be able to communicate those that cannot be met.
  • Must follow all safety procedures and policies as mandated by B&B.
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for the entire work shift.
  • Frequent walking.
