POSITION DESCRIPTION:  Reporting to the Sr. Director of Operations, the Distribution Center Operations Manager, will be responsible for overseeing all distribution and assembly operations in the Distribution Center. This position will manage a wide range of warehouse and operations responsibilities, such as: safety, quality, receiving, inventory and on-time and accurate shipping.  The Distribution Center Operations Manager will utilize their strong communication skills to develop, train and motivate their team to operate as a high-performing operation, to ensure organization metrics and KPI’s are being met. The ideal candidate will be motivated to lead with a continuous improvement mindset, while promoting and fostering a Lean operating environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Hires, Leads and develops the Warehouse Supervisors and team to plan, and manage the day-to-day operations for shipping, receiving, inventory management, order-picking and assembly
  • Establish and assure a safe work environment by maintaining compliance with company policies concerning health and safety, within and according to the Solve ISO9001:2015 QMS, as well as OSHA standards and maintain a site-wide 5S program, MHE maintenance and repair program, and site indirect procurement program of warehouse supplies and equipment
  • Foster a lean culture by monitoring key performance indicators, such as productivity, external accuracy, and same-day-ship percentage against goal, and driving continuous improvement projects for opportunities to improve these metrics
  • Review and manage RDC cost productivity and overtime, with a focus on efficient labor and operational costs per unit shipped in tandem with managing RDC expenses to achieve monthly and annual budgets in accordance with forecast
  • Ensure accuracy of physical inventory via the execution of Standard Operating Procedures, by initiating and managing cycle and bin count audits as scheduled
  • Work in conjunction with the Solve Engineering team to manage internal rework and specialized assembly processes for key OEM customers
  • Lead daily and weekly huddles/meetings with warehouse staff to identify and mitigate any RDC concerns, lead gemba walks, and communicate any corresponding messages or relevant changes from other departments or company leadership
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of overall warehouse/distribution center or manufacturing management experience
  • Experience managing multi-shift work schedules and optimizing labor and productivity across shifts
  • Thorough understanding of P&L statements and OPEX costing structures
  • Continuous improvement experience; knowledge of Lean manufacturing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience having worked in a high-volume, fast-paced production and distribution environment
  • Six Sigma Certification
  • Experience operating in an ISO9001:2015 Certified QMS facility
  • Experience working in a bearings and power transmission industry
