POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the VP Controller, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for processing the company’s payroll on time, accurately and with a focus on optimizing efficiency. The ideal candidate will exercise their strong attention to detail to guarantee payroll is compliant with company, federal, and state government regulations. This person will operate with a high level of integrity as they will be privy to confidential employee information. The Payroll Manager will handle all deductions, tax setup, exemptions, etc., and will be responsible for all payroll-related functions, such as: audits, annual tax forms, responding to requests for information, and data entry. The ideal candidate will lean into their strong communication and customer service skills, while partnering closely with the Finance team and Human Resources team to ensure company goals are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of weekly payroll, including payroll taxes, deductions, 401k funding, garnishments and benefits, in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and provide payroll-related data and reports as required to leadership
- Stay current with laws and regulations related to payroll and make recommendations for changes to policies and procedures as needed
- Manage any payroll discrepancies and respond promptly to associate inquiries
- Acts as a subject matter expert for locations on payroll tax, including multi-state, new registrations, and SUI tax rate changes
- Coordinates year end processing including notification of special taxable benefits, such as tuition reimbursement, car allowance, gift cards; assisting with system changes due to organizational restructuring
- Acts as the administrator for the organization’s travel and expense system, including reviewing employee expense reports and enforcing T&E policies
- Audits payroll registers, tax reports, 401k, and benefit vendor invoices for accuracy
- 5+ years of Payroll experience
- Strong working knowledge of Federal & State Tax Laws
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional)
- Experience with Paycor
- Experience with Concur
